CERTIFICATE III IN DANCE

Part Time

LAUNCH Performing Arts Centre is thrilled to be offering the Nationally Recognised Certificate III in Dance (CUA30113), providing students with a platform to LAUNCH their professional dance careers. This 2 year, part time course is designed for secondary school students looking to further their education and experience in performing arts while providing vocational education points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education.

Applications are now open for our 2018 course where part of the selection criteria for enrolment is either attendance at our audition day OR a video submission audition.

AUDITION DAY – SUNDAY 8TH OCTOBER

Registrations are now open for auditions to join our 2018 course.
Sunday 8th October 2017, 9.30am arrival for a 10.00am start.
Registrations close Saturday 7th October 2017

Auditions held at LAUNCH Performing Arts Centre, 20-22 Surfers Ave, Mermaid Beach. Come prepared for a full day of workshop classes covering many dance genres.

Part time

If you live outside of the Gold Coast, you can audition by video submission which requires you to apply online (through the below button link) along with emailing Michelle at [email protected] with the below information:

  1. Your current CV including a head shot
  2. 1-3 minute solo routine on video in your preferred dance genre/s.
  3. (optional) 1 minute video of a vocal piece or any other special act you have in your repertoire.

If your video is too large to attach, please use a free online big file send service such as HighTail or upload to Youtube and email us the video link.

Michelle Hopper has worked extensively in the performing arts industry for the last 20 years. Having worked with the world’s leading choreographers in film, TV, musical theatre she has cemented herself as a highly sought after commercial dancer. Returning home to the Gold Coast, Michelle now wants to share her wealth of experience and expertise to train the next generation of performers.

As one of Australia’s most respected choreographers and performers, Troy’s career spans more than two decades where he has specialised in musical theatre and stage performance. Hailing from Melbourne, Troy trained at the distinguished Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, Victoria’s premier school for the training of dancers and musicians.

KATE WORMALD
With a performance and choreographic career spanning more than 20 years covering film, TV, theatre and specialty events both in Australia and the UK, Kate is one of Australia’s most highly respected and sought after choreographers and mentors. She has had the privilege of working alongside some of the world’s best choreographers, and directors including George Miller, Baz Luhrmann, Wade Robson, Kelley Abbey, Jason Gilkison, The Squared Division, David Atkins to name a few.
KAREN PERRING
KAREN PERRING
Following a highly successful dance performance in the 1980’s, Karen is now a teaching power house, specialising in teaching and choreographing in all levels of Classical Ballet. Her teaching spans across the UK and Australia including West London School of Dance, Anna Pavlova Studio Ivy House in London, and was a Mentor for the BA (Hons) students at R.A.D. London Headquarters. She is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Simon is a sought after dancer in both corporate and commercial, dancing alongside artists such as Deborah Cox, Havana Brown, Sheppard and many more.
Simon’s Television credits include the AFL Grand Final with Kath & Kim, Dancing With The Stars, The AFL Footy Show Grand Final & Totally Wild.
Simon Fairweather has recently been casted for Ghost The Musical Australia, touring Australia in 2016.
SAMUEL DOMINIC
SAMUEL DOMINIC
After learning at a very young age his passion for contemporary dance and ballet, Samuel embarked on his professional training at just age 14. At the age of 16, he was invited to partake in a traineeship with Brisbane based contemporary dance company, Expressions. Samuel’s international stage credentials include: Royal Caribbean’s “Saturday Night Fever” The Broadway Musical, Royal Caribbean’s “In the Air” A full acrobatic and aerial Show, Norwegian Cruise Lines “Encore”, “Rock You Tonight” and “What the World Needs Now”.

LAUNCH has partnered with the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) to present our unique certificate course syllabus’. ATOD are Leaders in the field of dance education with a rich history in providing dance syllabus’ of the highest technical standard in order to provide students with performance and leadership opportunities. ATOD is the registered RTO for the LAUNCH Certificate III in Dance (RTO #31624).
